CLASP Summer Art Camp 2004
Creative Methods and Techniques for Enhancing Child Participation
Background
The Child Laborers and Advocates for Social Participation (CLASP) is a
network of children's organizations devoted to advancing the rights of children
to participate in all levels of decision-making. As such, CLASP would like to
arm itself with the necessary knowledge and skills to elicit genuine
participation with children.
PETA, CLASP facilitators and advocates, and the VISAYAN FORUM have developed
creative strategies, techniques, and methodologies in order to ensure effective
participation of children during meetings, workshops, and deliberations. These
creative methods utilize forms such as visual and theater arts and special group
dynamics.
This year's SUMMER ART CAMP will focus on providing the current batch of
CLASP leaders with the skills and knowledge in order to utilize these methods
and devise similar approaches for themselves.
