Message from VF President
Dear Volunteers,
Warm welcome to Visayan Forum Foundation!
Thank you for sharing your time, energy and talents with our organization. We truly value your voluntary service to us. Your contribution means a lot in realizing our vision and mission.
Visayan Forum is one of the country’s prime-movers in the fight against human trafficking, and promoting the rights and dignity of domestic workers. And volunteers play a vital role in this effort.
Volunteerism is the driving force behind the success and vitality of our organization. Everyday, we face so many challenges in our work. These though become easy with the help of people like you. With more hands, hearts and minds working together for a common purpose, we are able to perform our greater responsibility to society.
Volunteerism is a two-way process. You learn from us and we learn from you. All of us benefit from each other’s experience, including the people we both serve. Together, we make this experience mutually enriching for all of us.
Our work at VF is a journey. Sometimes, the journey is smooth. At times, it is rough. We journey with the women and children in our care, with our partners, and with you our volunteers. Together, we journey towards improving this world and making it a better place.
At VF, we believe that we are all agents of change. We organize our volunteers not only to be advocates of change but also as catalysts of change. We encourage our volunteers to serve as good examples to inspire others to do the same. We hope to create a welcoming culture among different kinds of people, to foster unity in the midst of diversity, and develop norms of solidarity and reciprocity which are essential to development work.
Your passion and commitment will always be treasured. We can only reward your priceless contribution with our sincere guidance and demonstrated caring, in a nurturing atmosphere of trust and respect, throughout your brief stay with us and even beyond. We hope to develop a lasting bond and partnership between you and VF. So that one day we will all remember that our paths have crossed as we touched other people’s lives as much as they have touched ours.
May this flame keep burning as wildfire in this generation and passed on to the next. Let’s always keep the spirit of volunteerism alive!
