The uniqueness of this program lies in the active involvement of domestic workers themselves in its implementation. The program provides specialized crisis services such as temporary shelter, hotline counseling and medico-legal services to reach out to abused domestic workers that are by nature scattered and invisible.
VF works with a wide array of partners, build the capacities and mobilizes them to develop and implement their own programs to promote their rights and protection. VF is lobbying for the passage of a Magna Carta for Domestic Workers to help address the gaps in existing laws. VF is also at the forefront of the campaign for the adoption of an International Convention on Decent Work for Domestic Workers.
