V F introduces New Board of Trustees
Manila, Philippines - During its 24th Anniversary Celebration last February 26, 2105, Visayan Forum introduced its new Board of Trustees, led by its new Chairman, world-renowned social entrepreneur, David T. Bussau. (Read: VF 24th Anniversary Thanksgiving Dinner)
The new Board is composed of international experts in various fields such as: Ms. Shelly Lazaro, whose leadership has earned 24 awards for the Rotary Club of Makati San Lorenzo; Ms. Ma. Luisa Zuniga – Carmine, an international social development expert with the Asian Development Bank; Dr. Sofia Arce, a Domestic Worker turned College Dean; Atty. Laurence Arroyo, who AP Legal 500 named an “ADR Expert”; Ms. Cecil Oebanda, a multi-awarded modern slavery abolitionist and social entrepreneur; and Engr. Roland Pacis, an international expert on domestic work and modern slavery.
As a hybrid organization fusing power of social mobilization with entrepreneurship, direct services, and policy advocacy to deliver social impact, VF diversified the expertise composition in its Board of Trustees in order to achieve its vision. Mr. Bussau carries with him decades of experience in building global social enterprises for the poor and marginalized. Ms. Lazaro, a successful entrepreneur and respected socio-civic leader, has a strong background in business and civic engagement. Atty. Arroyo contributes much needed legal frameworks and perspectives.
Ms. Zuniga – Carmine, leverages on decades of service with the poorest of the poor using international intervention standards. Dr. Arce brings the academic perspective as well as real experience to the table. Ms. Oebanda and Engr. Pacis leverages on decades of actual frontline service in the fight to end human trafficking and modern slavery.
