Kara David weaves the stories of domestic workers, their parents, employers, recruiters, NGO workers, a legislator, and the son of a lifetime househelper. In this eye-opening personal witnessing of the Kasambahay issue, Kara travels with a rescued domestic worker back to her family in the province. She traces the alleged recruiter in Manila. Kara also interviews Rep. Jack Enrile, solon proponent of the Batas Kasambahay, and his childhood babysitter who still stays with the family. Kara also visited two lifetime friends - an employer and her househelper - who despite their class differences became bonded for life as part of each other's families. Finally, Kara documents the struggle of a househelper who successfully sent his son to school who graduated cum laude.
In this balanced I-WITNESS documentary, Kara was finally able to present the dual nature of the issue of domestic work, one that is desirable and necessary and on the other which is hidden and exploitative.
